Australian Quartet Sets New World Record In Women's 4x200 Metres Freestyle Relay
Stephanie Rice won her third gold medal of the Beijing Olympics by leading the Australian women's 4x200 metres freestyle relay team on Thursday (14th August).
The Australian quartet of Stephanie Rice, Bronte Barratt, Kylie Palmer and Linda Mackenzie set a new world record of 7 minutes 44.31 seconds, 5.78 seconds faster than the previous record set by the United States at the world championships in Melbourne last year.
China won silver and the US team won bronze.
Rice has also won gold in the 200 and 400 metres individual medley and has set the world record with all three of her victories.

That's good new for the Australians out there, Chinia's still on the lead for gold medals though.
