Russia has collected Formula 1 points for the first time after Renault’s Vitaly Petrov crossed the finish line in seventh place at the Chinese Grand Prix.

The Russian, who started 14th, managed to put six points in the bag thanks to some great tactics in a chaotic race, during which the rain forced some drivers to make four or more pit stops.

Petrov was sitting fourth in the middle of the distance, enjoying a significant gap from his nearest rival, bur the appearance of a safety car allowed opponents to catch up.

The Russian left his second pit stop in ninth, and was then overtaken by Jaime Alguersuari, but in the final ten laps he showed his worth.

Honda Withdraws From Formula One
Formula One : Jenson Button Honda Motor president Takeo Fukui said: "Honda Motor Co. has come to the conclusion that we will withdraw from all Formula One activities, making 2008 the last season for participation."

He added the "difficult decision" has been made "in light of the quickly deteriorating operating environment facing the global auto industry."

Mr Fukui blamed the troubles on the "subprime problem in the United States, the deepening credit crisis and the sudden contraction of the world economies."

Honda's 750-strong staff reportedly first heard the news at a meeting, Sky sources said.

Staff were told that unless a buyer could be found by the end of December, the team would be wound up and not compete in next year's Championship.

Among the team's staff are British driver Jenson Button and Ross Brawn.

Formula 1 Sex-scandal: Max Mosley Wins Civil Suit Against The News Of The World Publication

Max MosleyThe latest chapter in F1 boss Max Mosley's dramatic sex orgy scandal has recently concluded in a British civil court today where he was awarded 60,000 pounds (roughly $119,000) to be paid by The News of the World publication.

Mosley's legal team claimed the tabloid overstepped their boundaries illegally published private sexual material and wrongfully infused connotations that such S&M acts were Nazi themed.

In a statement issued by presiding Mr. Justice Eady, no reasonable evidence was found to support the publication's written accusations that Mosley's sexual activities were an "enactment of Nazi behaviour or adoption of any of its attitudes" or a mockery of Holocaust victims.

"I decided that the claimant had a reasonable expectation of privacy in relation to sexual activities -- albeit unconventional -- carried on between consenting adults on private property," Justice Eady stated.

Furthermore he writes: "There was bondage, beating and domination which seem to be typical of S&M behaviour. But there was no public interest or other justification for the clandestine recording, for the publication of the resulting information and still photographs, or for the placing of the video extracts on the News of the World website -- all of this on a massive scale."

Mosley was denied punitive exemplary damages and still maintains his sexual acts with five prostitutes was consensual and in no way Nazi themed.

News of the World editor Colin Myler adamantly stood by his newspaper staff and stated outside of court, "The News of the World will remain committed to fighting for its readers' right to know." Myler continued to say the story was of "legitimate public interest and one that I believe was legitimately published."

Prior to this court ruling, Mosley was given a majority vote of confidence by members of Formula 1's governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), to retain his position as president.

Danica_PatrickNick Fry has clarified reports that said Danica Patrick, a high-profile female competitor of America's IndyCar Series, is set to make her formula one test debut for the Honda team. It was reported earlier this month that the 26-year-old is likely to climb aboard the RA108 challenger in November at the Spanish winter test circuits Barcelona or Jerez.

"What we actually said was that if Danica wants to have a drive in our car at the end of the season, we'd be very open to the idea," the Briton clarified.

"But just to make it very clear, there has been no request thus far from Danica.

"If she would like to, we'd be very happy for her to drive the car. The door is open if she's interested," he added.
